So a radio station has been put up on campus..and this is the part where I throw my fist in the air in utter excitement! We are finally given the platform to release our inner potential - as future radio Dj's. Of course this is something which I would love to sink my teeth in, without a doubt! I, myself take Radio as one of my favourite subjects. It was our second-year students of BMH (Boston Media House) who were granted the opportunity to air their own scheduled programmes or shows on the radio station; and the amateur radio presenters did a pretty good job. As well-informed students who are studying the subject itself (Radio), they got the gist of it and managed to pull off a one-hour programme. However, this is something that is most likely to frizzle out in the long run due to abysmal management; and I can only hope that its existence lasts long enough - well atleast until I am able to take it on!
Music at its best...
Something about the musicality of these two ladies (Pam de Menezes and Christie) resembles that of Hailey Willia from Paramore. The Arrows have made their mark on the South African music scene - especially in an industry that is rather typically testosterone driven. They are more like the South African version of Paramore, (I think) but with a more softer feel to their music. Their debut album "Make Believe" just sounds like great, well-crafted music with provocative and challenging lyrics. Which is as it should be. In this album, they question faith - it is about trusting God in the midst of an unpredictable and bewildering fallen world - and that of course resonates strongly with me. But there are also moment of great tenderness and empathy (like in the track Make Believe or Ode to a Patient God). I'm absolutey loving the album as every song has got a different feel to it. As soon as I heard their first single 'Lovesick', I knew I had to add them to my collection of music! They are great artists and i cannot wait to hear more from them:)

Absolutely loving my hair!!
Deja Vu
The crystal raindrops fall from your eyes
Here I am, waiting with a smile
Right to hold you deeply, inside
And those rainbows in your eyes
I'll swap the misses from your life.
The elixir for the memoir pain
Will always be here, remains
Deep inside my soul
All I breathe is to let you know
That how you feel as much as you relieved
And that you'll find it's not as much as they believe.
And I'll be
In a memoir word of thoughts
To find the words to say what I mean.
And there you are again
She embraces you
You smile with warmth
She kissses your lips
Your eyes sparkle.
She held your hands
And made you dance
I looked from the corner
Where the neon made me invisible to you, your soul
I am not jealous; gazing at you,
Seeing you in somebody's arms
As you were rather happy;
and I was at peace
As she was I
I was in Deja Vu...

Finding that niche...
First and foremost, I must say that I am thankful for the feedback that I have received thus far (not necessarily as an act of commenting on my blog, but by checking it out and telling me what you think) - it is much appreciated. So people have been asking what made me decide to get this baby up and running. We start up blogs with the intention of sharing that zest we have for writing; or merely to create a personal space for criticizing, sharing opinions, thoughts and insights on our everyday lives; and once we have adjusted and completely come around the whole concept of blogging, we then find that niche by making a particular area of societal affairs, our focal point. Have I found that niche? It is safe to say that I am getting there. I have taken the constructive criticism into account and have used it as a tool of reference to better myself. I would say that this is rather putative to be an expression of myself. For now, I keep the faith going as I look up in prayer; left and right for inspiration; but never down in despair!
Until then
One Love
Lee
