After hearing the buzz about The Fifty Shades trilogy, I thought okay, let me find out what exactly is it about it. Two reasons why I wanted to read it: I refuse to let varsity take my joy of reading away from me so I'm slowly getting back to my 'one-book-one-week' self. Another reason is that I love to escape into the fantasy world of books where characters are created by great authors like EL James. The innocent Student Anastasia Steele, interviews rich entreprenuer Christian Grey. As they embark on a dangerous love affair, Anastasia discovers there is a much darker side to her beloved Fifty Shades. The intoxicating page-turner takes you on a journey of love and passion; and into the mind of the imperfect Anastasia. What I find quite impressive about the trilogy is how each book is able to stand on its own - taking you through a series of events, and where the characters are, in that moment. What is also refreshing about it is how EL James manages to depict the reality of sexual nature of human beings; and the contrast of the male and female dynamics - content is uncensored. I'd recommend this to an open-minded soul, who is willing to enter into the world handcuffs, whips and chains... the world of fifty bright and dark shades of Christian Grey and his oh so sweet Ana.
Talking about getting back into my 'one-book-one-week' self, the next book I have to get my hands on is The Unlikely Pilgrimage Of Harold Fry. :):)
Until then,
One Love.
Lee.
