Spiritual Nutrition

In a world filled with the intricacies which make our lives appear to be what they are, we go through certain things and meet certain kinds of people all in preparation for where we are meant to be. Everything happens for a reason, and I believe the biggest thing is appreciating why you are where you are.

I’ve come to comprehend how humble beginnings can open doors to greater endings. Never leaving your house will kill you. Staying where you are and being afraid will kill you. Pecking at the new notifications icon on your social media platforms of choice, cycling through them like a series of surreal fridge doors that might contain something better since you last looked - this is what will kill you second by second until you realise you have none left. You are far more likely to die from fear and apathy, from not having lived and fulfilled the multitude of promises that you make yourself each night before you fall asleep, than anything else.

The journey of understanding can become an intricate one when dealing with personalities we are intertwined with. It happens to everybody when growing up - you find out who you are, and what you want to be and you realise that people you’ve known forever don’t see things the way you do. So you hold on to the wonderful memories and you find yourself moving on. In fact, understanding never happens. We just learn to tolerate each other. Understanding someone is where you go wrong. I’ve learned. Don’t expect people to understand you. But hope that they are able to understand your actions. When your actions are understood, the ability to co-exist is there.

Appreciate everything that flows in and out of your life. And rekindle the relationship with the child in you, and God. Live the life you know you capable of living and don’t forget to practise radical self-love.

One Love.

Lee.
